Luis Gonzalez is the Development Manager of ALIGN. Luis earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), where he spent many years actively involved in Student Government and working with the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) on providing support services for students of color. After graduating Luis spent many years teaching at the collegiate level, taking a break at one point to earn a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). During his time in Maryland, Luis took on a number projects in the local area, ranging from Program Evaluations of nonprofit organizations to Coalition Building for a federally funded rail project the state was proposing. All the while, Luis worked for the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education (OMSE) at UMD, tracking student metrics and supporting the office in implementing advising strategies for young men of color.
