TAKE ACTION!

12:15pm – 12:45pm: Community action and rally
(across the street from 250 Broadway in front of the City Hall gates)

12:45pm: March to 250 Broadway, 16th Floor Committee Room

1:00pm: NYC Council hearing starts

BACKGROUND:

NYC is installing solar on its public buildings, which is an important step to tackling climate change. But we need more than solar panels in one of the most unequal cities in the nation. Public solar projects are an an opportunity to bring us closer to a more just and equitable city by ensuring the following:

* High quality, career path jobs and expansion of employment opportunities for low-income people, people of color, and women

* Prioritization of environmental justice and low-income communities for public solar investments

* Sharing energy savings with public institutions and communities in need

Join us for an action to show that we care about a healthy city AND thriving communities! This action will take place immediately before the City Council’s hearing on NYC’s public solar projects. All are invited to the hearing.
