56% of NYC Voters Say Yes to
Green Schools, Universal Childcare, and a $30 Minimum Wage
NEW YORK, NY – In response to newly-released ranked choice voting results from the 2025 NYC Democratic Primary for Mayor, Theodore A. Moore, ALIGN Executive Director, released the following statement:
“On June 24, 56% of New York voters cast their ballots for green schools, universal childcare, and a $30 minimum wage. This is a rejection of politics as usual and a referendum on the affordability and climate crises that have left working class New Yorkers struggling to survive, forcing Black, brown, and immigrant communities out of the city they’ve called home for generations. As labor coalesces support for a campaign that’s pledged to raise the wage and invest in families, it’s clear that New Yorkers are hungry to turn the page for a healthy, affordable city and a dignified life.”
