ALIGN to State Leadership: One-House Budget Proposals
Won’t Weather the Storms Ahead
ALBANY, NY – In response to the New York State Senate and Assembly one-house budget proposals, ALIGN released the following statement:
“Looking at the one-house budget proposals, you’d never know that egg prices are in the double digits, wildfires just blazed through Long Island, and New York is responding to new federal funding threats every week,” said Theodore A. Moore, ALIGN Executive Director. “While it’s encouraging to see more support for thermal energy networks and building decarbonization, the Senate and Assembly proposals fail to address our existential emergencies head-on or prepare us for the coming storms. With our survival on the line, New Yorkers need higher wages, proactive investments in worker protections, and meaningful movement on climate justice to make our state green, affordable, and just.”
