A report released Monday alleging that tax breaks and government grants largely fail to create jobs in New York state gave us a chance to let you look at any industrial development agency-approved project in the state.
We've built a database of all the projects approved by industrial development agencies across the state. The total? Nearly 4,500 projects. In Central New York there are 256 projects.
The data was compiled from state records by Alliance for a Greater New York and the Getting Our Money's Worth coalition. The two groups issued the report Monday, saying the tax breaks often did not create jobs.
Here's our article on the groups' report.
