Advocates for better working conditions at the retail giant Wal-Mart aren’t taking off this holiday.
The Wal-Mart-Free NYC coalition: ALIGN (The Alliance for a Greater New York) plan to protest Friday outside the Wal-Mart in Secaucus, 400 Park Plaza Drive, beginning at 1 p.m.
Maritza Silva-Farrell, of ALIGN, said the group will be there to “support the struggles of the workers” who have been trying to meet with company executives.
Silva-Farrell said she expects at least 150 people to demonstrate.
The Secaucus location was chosen because of its proximity to New York and because it is also a “Supercenter,” she said. The store is also one of the retailer’s biggest Black Friday sellers, according to past reports from the company.
