Daisy Chung is the Deputy Director of ALIGN, providing support for the development of the organization’s vision, planning and strategy. She was formerly ALIGN’s Campaign Director, where she designed and executed strategic campaigns in collaboration with labor unions, community groups, and environmental justice organizations. Daisy has also worked as a social justice consultant, providing support for training organizers, developing campaigns, and fundraising. Daisy was previously the Executive Director of the Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York, a membership-based workers center focused on organizing restaurant workers to win change in exploitative workplaces and transform the industry. She was a restaurant and food service worker herself for many years. Her approach to the work is also informed by a wide range of other experiences that include working on union campaigns for food service workers, coordinating a prisoner’s rights group, and serving on the Board of Directors of a movement organization that builds the leadership and power of low-income Asian immigrants. Daisy grew up in Queens after she immigrated to the U.S. as a child, and still resides in her favorite borough. She is a graduate of CUNY Law School.
