As Director of Strategic Research and Communications for ALIGN, Sunshine Royanian Ludder is responsible for developing and advancing ALIGN’s policy agenda and communications strategy and serves as an integral part of ALIGN’s leadership team helping to shape and implement the organization’s vision. Sunshine is motivated by the goal of achieving social and economic equity for us all, and creating and leveraging strategic opportunities toward that end.
Sunshine brings her experience in research and policy development; narrative and visual communications; and legislative, union, and electoral campaigns to ALIGN. She is a founding partner of Rip & Roy, a visual communications firm serving progressive movement organizations and campaigns, and has previously driven policy and communications work as the Senior Economic Policy Strategist with the Working Families Organization. She has also conducted winning new member organizing and political campaigns with 1199SEIU and CIRSEIU, and was an integral part of the producing team for a Sundance Grand Prize-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary.
Sunshine is Iranian-American and was raised in Northern Virginia and California by proud union members. She resides in New York City with her husband and daughter where she maintains a strong grip on her status as a citizen of the great provinces beyond the Hudson.
Sunshine serves on the board of the Advocacy Institute.
