Tal Frieden (they/them) is the Campaign Manager for ALIGN’s Raise Up NY Coalition, which aims to raise the minimum wage in New York State and index it to inflation.
Tal has worked on campaigns to end immigrant detention and mass incarceration, win progressive taxation, and ensure housing for all. Most recently, they coordinated campaigns to tax the rich in Rhode Island, fight budget cuts, and create a state-wide public housing developer. Tal grew up in Syracuse, New York, where the Occupy movement inspired them to pursue movement work. Tal holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Political Science from Brown University and is passionate about transformative justice, gardening, and cooking.
