The Commercial Sanitation Worker Relief Fund supports some of New York City’s most exploited workers as they organize for a voice on the job. Private sanitation workers are mostly people of color and for years, they have worked long hours for low pay. When the coronavirus pandemic hit New York, they were deemed essential and had to work even while exposing themselves to the virus, but as other commercial businesses shut down, they were then laid off as well. Your donation will help these vital New Yorkers support their families through this crisis, as they continue to organize to transform their industry.
