Community & Labor Organizations Respond to Amazon Lawsuit Against NY Attorney General
New York (February 12, 2021) — In response to Amazon’s lawsuit against the New York State Attorney General, Make the Road New York, New York Communities for Change, ALIGN NY, and the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, Teamsters Joint Council 16 issued the following statement:
“This is a blatant attempt by Amazon—whose reputation has been deeply tarnished by frontline workers and high-level executive whistleblowers speaking out against its abusive workplace practices—to prevent being held accountable. Rather than take responsibility, Amazon continues to use bullying and intimidation to silence anyone who tries to rein in their exploitation and abuse. We will not allow it. Amazon must be held accountable for dangerous working conditions.”
