NY HERO Act Know Your Rights
The New York Health and Essential Rights Act (NY HERO Act) was signed into law on May 5, 2021. Section 2 of the HERO Act, which took effect on November 1, 2021, requires employers who employ at least ten employees to allow employees to form joint labor-management workplace safety committees.
Section 2 of the NY HERO Act is not limited to Covid and other Airborne Infectious Diseases. Labor Management Workplace Safety Committees can address any workplace safety issue that may impact the physical or mental health and wellbeing of employees.
